Zapper, also known as Zapp, is a Bronx-born rapper, producer, and the founder of Zapper Records, established in 2014. His journey through music began back in junior high school, where hip-hop became more than just a sound it became his outlet.
Growing up in the Bronx during some of its roughest years, life presented challenges and temptations that led him down some tough roads as a teen. But music was his escape, his way to express himself and focus on something positive.
After taking a long hiatus from hip hop, Zapper returned to the game as a more mature man, shaped by growth, experience, and the lessons life taught him. His music now reflects that evolution-raw truth, self-awareness, and the story of redemption.
When Zapper came back to music in the early 2000s, he quickly realized that the music business is just that—a business. Refusing to profit off the backs of struggling artists, he took control of his own destiny. He built his own studio, launched Zapper Records, and became his own investor-a rare move in an era of contracts and control.
Since his return in 2014, Zapper has dropped five albums and five singles, proving that dedication and independence can still thrive in today's music landscape. His 2022 album, Bluebirds & Redbirds, explored the idea that "the world is bigger than what you see around you-you might have to leave your block to see the beauty waiting beyond it."
Now, Zapper is preparing to release his upcoming project, Bronx Baby (2025), with its lead single of the same name dedicated to his big brother, Johnny—a heartfelt tribute to family, growth, and the place that made him who he is.
Zapper is in the studio every day, writing, producing, and building with other artists.
